Week 27

Scotty-

Math:  In math I learned about how to write and say big numbers.  Like thousand numbers.  Then how to add them all together.

Language Arts: We got sick this week.  Mom says the whole world is sick, so we did pretty good.   But we read lots of books together.

Science:   The question was, why do cats purrr....  The problem is  you can't ask them.  They purr usually when they are happy.  But sometimes when they are upset.  They think this is because they want to calm themselves down. 

Tech:  I built Gorilla.  It did the same thing as frog and walk. 

Karate: I took my test in karate.  I may get my purple belt.  I will find out in class if I passed.  I think I maybe passed.

Beth-

Math:  I kept practicing counting to twenty.  I mix up some of the teens.  It gets confusing.

Language Arts:  I read some more stories even though we were sick.  I am reading longer and longer stories.

Dance:  I liked dance this week.  But lots of people were sick.  We played some new games this week.  I threw poof balls gracefully!

Week 26

Scotty-

Math:  I learned about perimeter.  A perimeter is the length around something.  I added up all the sides and found what the perimeter was of the shapes.

Language Arts: I learned about grandma Moses a very good artist.  I learned how she made the stuff that was closer bigger and the stuff farther smaller.  I also learned about prefix and the prefix UN means NOT.  Like unsafe means not safe.

Science:   We went to a butterfly biosphere.  We saw lots and lots of butterflies and there was this cool screen that was a touch screen and lets you learn about the bugs intestines and skin and brain and there were fun bug statues that we got to sit on. 

Tech:   I built Frog this week and it did the same thing as last week. 

Karate: We didn't have karate this week because of Valentine's Day.  But the next day I got one on one time with Mr. Solomon.  I did really good, he says I am ready for my test.  Purple Belt.

Beth-

Math:   I was learning to count to 20.  We made numbers that were missing on the page. 

Language Arts:  So there was a kitten and a cat licking the kitten and I read about it.  I also wrote lots of letters with my grandma. 

Dance:  I went to dance and I got a special Valentine's Day treat.  That was my favorite part.

Week 25

Scotty-

Math:  I learned how long an inch is and one foot is 12 inches.  I used a ruler and a two block equaled one inch.

Language Arts: I learned about articles.  The three articles are a, an, and the.  I used an if it starts with a vowel.  and you use a when it starts with any other letter.

Science:  We learned about Why is the ocean salty?  The answer is, people don't even really know.  Rain has no salt, but even little lakes have a little tiny bit so maybe all the lakes and rivers that go into the ocean make it salty... we don't know.....


Tech: I built walk.  I made it walk across the room.  It was really cool!  Next week I'm going to build frog!!!!

Karate:  I got my sparring stripe!  I am going to test on the 23rd!  I was learning technic number three and four!

Beth-

Math:   I had dot to dot and I used blocks to make it and first I had one plus one.  It equals 2.  2 plus one equals three.  and four plus one equals five. 

Language Arts:  He had no nose and he had no feet and had no teeth.  What do you think it is? I read a story about a worm and he was eating and apple and the person got scared about it.

Dance:  Well always we do the same thing.  It's tumbling, ballet and jazz.  I did do stuff on the trampoline.  I got better with my hands up together.  I got better at that.

Week 24

Scotty-

Math:  I am doing Imagine Math game.  I had to try and try to pass a level I kept messing up.  BUT I DID IT!

Language Arts:  I learned about words that are split up.  They are called compounds.

Science:  I learned about who invented football. I didn't know that people invented ball sport stuff.  I don't like football.  I wish it had been something else I could learn.



Tech:  I built crank again.  This time I used him to build a hopper.  It was funny.  I liked it.

Karate:  I got my kicking stripe this week!  I am going to get my new belt!  I am trying so hard to get it on the next test.

Beth-

Math:  Mom made me do the same stuff again... It was so hard.  Shes says if I keep trying I will get better...

Language Arts: I am reading super long stories now!  Woo hoo! The story was about a boy eating cake!

Dance:   My teacher Miss Jamie was sick and I had to have a new teacher.  I really like Miss Jamie the best!
