Week 36

Scotty-

Math: I did bug subtraction problems.  Four digit numbers, and story problems.  It was very hard! 

Language Arts: I did irregular past tense verbs.  I liked them.   It was fun.

Science:  I learned how old the earth is.  It is about four thousand five hundred million years old. It was their best guess from rocks.

Tech:  I built Helicopter.  I used Reel from last week!  I lifted up the little panda.  He is in the bottom of the picture.

Karate:  We did round kicks, and we had to knock over the little pads on the mats super high up.  We had to knock the little pads over and make sure that they don't fall off the mats.

Beth-

Math: 

I am still reviewing and making sure I know my counting really well. I have to know counting to do everything.

Language Arts:  I read another story this week.  This story was about a man who had lots of pots.

Dance: I know the dance better than anyone. There is a girl who cuts in line a lot.

Week 35

Scotty-

Math: I learned about tallying.  That wasn't hard at all!

Language Arts:  I learned about base words.  I also learned about plural words.

Science:  In science we learned about why do we yawn?  People think it's contagious but we don't know why it is.  It's a question that I could find the answer to when I am a scientist!


Tech:  I built Real.  It's kind of like a fishing rod and it reeled in stuff.  It was fun to try new things with!

Karate:  I did a lot of practicing of stuff I know.  We did lots and lots of kicks!

Beth-

Math: Math is getting hard and I am having to go back a little.  I get skip counting but I have to keep remembering orders and that is hard.

Language Arts:  I  read another story.  It was about a man who had a lot of cop cars on his farm.  Cop is another way to say police man.

Dance:  So I learned how to do cartwheels better and while I was there.  I handed my teacher my birthday card and she gave me a treat!

Week 33-34

Scotty-

Math:  This week I did double digits again. Sometimes I don't write down the 1 that I am carrying and then I mess up.  I have to write my work for now mom says.

Language Arts:  I did plural nouns this week.  It was easy, adding an s isn't hard.

Science:  We had the question, Do Fish Sleep?  It was like there wasn't really an answer, because they don't sleep like us, but they do sleep like them.  They just kind of turn off and float and that is how they sleep.


Tech:   I built Fish.  It wiggled it's tail and I pretend it was swimming.

Karate:  We were practicing forms now.  There were three forms.  They will be hard, but I will get it!

Beth-

Math: I did some more skip counting and I also just did normal counting.  I am getting better!

Language Arts: I read some more stories! I am getting better and better at reading!

Dance:  I did the dance for the summer!  I am super excited!

Week 32

Scotty-

Math: This week I had to practice the things that are hard for me.  Money is hard, and sometimes the time.  But mostly I know it.  Dimes are ten and nickels are five

Language Arts:  This week was tricky.  I haven't ever had to take words and make them shorter.  Always long.  I did stuff like take closing and turn it back to the small word close.  Also I practiced the spelling again.

Science:   This weeks question was How are Batteries Made?  It was so cool!  The guy was looking at frogs leg, and it started moving and they couldn't figure out how.  But then ANOTHER guy figured out that it was the two different metals and the salt water!  It wasn't the muscles!  So we should try to make our own batteries!

Tech:   This week I built Floodgate and I added little fishies!  It was so cool!  It moved like a door whenever the flood was coming!

Karate:  In karate I kicked a TON!  My legs are going to be so sore forever!

Beth-

Math: This time I was practicing skip counting by tens.  I think tens are easier because it's like normal counting but with "tee".

Language Arts:  I read more stories this week.  I like the story of the cat this week.

Dance:  I danced  with my teacher.  We are learning our new dance.  It was the same as last time!
