Week 6 19-20

Scotty-

Math:  I don't know how to keep saying I did multiplication any new way! But that is what I did.  I did more multiplication.  I have to learn all of them.

Language Arts:  I learned about sentence structure and about nouns.  I liked putting the story together with the grandpa and son.

Science: 

Why do the stars come out at night? You can't see any stars when there are bright stars around you, but when there are in the country and there are not other lights, you can see a lot.

TECH:  In tech I built my Lego race car and my spinny race car.  When the car drove the red and gray part spun around the blue circle.

Karate:  In Karate I was practicing my forms and some of us were testing for a stripe.  I already have all my stripes.

Beth-

Math: In math I did addition and counting.  I keep counting and counting.

Language Arts:  I keep reading and reading. I am getting really good at it.

Science: 

I learned about stars and why it is not starry in the day.  I like stars and mom and I went and sat outside in the dark and stared at them.

TECH: I built a teeter totter.  I liked putting my lego people on the teeter totter.

Dance: I started a  new dance class and I love it.  My teacher is my old teacher Miss Jamie and I love her. I like lyrical dance with all the twirls.

Week 5 19-20

Scotty-

Math: Times tables work for everything, even money.  Just did the worksheets, that's what I did.

Language Arts:  I practiced writing my cursive.  I also started figuring out how to write stories.  I made up all of it, and then I stood in front of everyone and told the story out loud. I also read for twenty minutes all the time.

Science:  We learned about how seeds travel all over the world.  If a tree just dropped it's seeds under it, they would be trapped in the shade and they would die. Plants eat the sun, so no sun, no food! we made our own seeds, and dropped them off the stairs.

We also saw some awesome hot air balloons.  They  use hot and cold air to go up and down.

TECH:  I built this fishing pole.  It actually works really good. It didn't have a fish, but I added one because its super fun.

Karate: I practiced for my belt testing.  I totally know all the things I need to know to pass!

Beth-

Math: I practiced skip counting in math this time.  I also practiced twenties and twelves again.


Language Arts:  I read a lot this week.  I read books about lots of things, and cows.  I had a hard time and I couldn't read the word cook, and I cried.  But I got it!

Science:  We learned about how seeds travel all over the world to plant and grow.  We builded paper seeds and then we dropped it from the top of our big stairs and it looked like they traveled.

We also saw big balloons in the air.  They go up and down with hot and cold.

TECH: I would spin the crank and then once as it is fast enough I would lift it up and then the top would spin.  I loved this one the best.

Dance: Mom said I am going to be in a new dance class now.  I was learning the Christmas dance, for the concert.

Week 4

Scotty-

Math: I did lot's of reviewing today.  I also learned about quarts. 

Language Arts: 

I learned about commas.  I remember learning this before! But I have to practice it some more I guess.

Science: I learned about why Pluto isn't a planet anymore.  But it is a planet, just not a major planet.  There are belts of a ton of planets that we don't even learn about anymore.  There are so many.

TECH: For my birthday I got even more tech lego stuff.  So I built a TON of stuff this week.

Karate: We mostly just practiced forms today.  I also did a lot of kicks.

Beth-

Math:  I keep learning about how to tell the difference between 13 and 30 and the units, tens, and hundreds place.  I keep mixing them up in my brain.

Language Arts:  I wrote more letters.  I love writing letters,  I also learned to read some m

Science: I learned about how Pluto isn't really a planet, but it is.... But it isn't.  But I don't know if I understand it.

TECH: I built a giant windmill.  I liked making it move!

Dance: Dance was kind of scary today.  I don't know why.  I didn't want to go!

Week 1-3 19-20

Scotty-

Math: I learned multiplication.  It's ok but it's really hard.

Language Arts:  I  studied this picture.  I circled the sentences that were true.  I designed my own house.  I have robots in the kitchen and other places.

Science: We learned how scientists know so much.  There was a man and a women who asked questions.  Lots of questions.  The lady asked questions about dinosaurs.   

TECH:  I built a robot arm.  I turned it into a fishing rod.  I also built a fish to catch

Karate: I did an awesome obstacle course.  My favorite part was knocking the big bean bag thing over.

Beth-

Math:  We redid some of the math I learned last year so I can see what I remember. I love the blocks.

Language Arts:  I practiced my letters.  I read lots of stories and I wrote a letter to my mom.

Science: We learned how scientists figure everything out!  You have to stay curious, and ask question all the time, and look at things around you. A lady did and she learned all about how to find dinosaurs!! I want to be like her!   

TECH: I built lots and lots of legos.  My new Lego set lets me make them move!  I am so excited!

Dance: I started my new class and I have a new teacher.  My friend Liberty is in my dance class!  That is exciting!
