WEEK 10 19-20

Scotty-

Math:  
I did a math puzzle this week. I also did skip counting by threes and multiplication. 

Language Arts: 
I did a word puzzle this week and more reading and handwriting.  I started writing my own story too.

Science: This week we learned about how syrup is made.  It is actually just sap, but you can't just eat the sap, you have to boil it.  I want to make our own and then make candy out of it. It is so delicious!

TECH: 
I am still building crazy stuff. But there is a wheel now, maybe it is a kind of car.

Karate:   I took my belt test this week. I was SO NERVOUS!  I don't know if I passed yet.  I will know soon.

Beth-

Math: I did a fun math coloring worksheet.  I like counting by one hundreds!

Language Arts: 
I did lots of work this week. I learned about vowels and long and short. I read some more of my story.

Science: 

We learned about syrup. I want to eat pancakes. Banana pancakes are the best.

TECH: 
I built a twirling thing.  Then I decided to make it CRAZY!

Dance:  We didn't have dance this week.  They were closed.

Week 9 19-20

Scotty-

Math:  
I did more multiplying.  The boxes were finding the area through multiplication.  I also did skip counting some more.

Language Arts: 

 I did a lot of Language Arts this week.  I read for twenty minutes, I did cursive and handwriting.  I also practiced verbs and being verbs. 

Science: 

We learned about what's the largest apple in the world.  There are over 4,000 different kinds of apples.   Also we learned if sharks and dolphins can have babies together.  They can't because they are different species.  They have to be the same species to do that. But a couple times there are some that can. a dolphin can have babies with a false killer whale.

TECH: 
I still don't know what I am building yet, but it looks interesting.  My favorite part to build this week was the gear part.

Karate:   
Karate was mostly helping get ready for the test.  I am completely ready for the test.

Beth-

Math:
I practiced my skip counting tens again.  I also did some adding.  Then I used the blocks to build tens.

Language Arts: 
I did lots.  I did truth or not.  I did my reading and my writing.

Science: 

I learned about big apples and little apples and red apples.  Some are red on the inside and green on the skin.  I want to eat that.

TECH: 
I built more cars.  I have a thing that turns.

Dance:  
Christmas we will dance. It will be so fun! I love dancing with Emily.

Week 8 19-20

Scotty-

Math:  My dad taught me about the power of tens.  I got some of it, but I didn't get the division part as much, because I haven't learned about division yet.  I also practiced some more multiplication.  I am getting better at that!

Language Arts:  I took off and I added e's and ing's.  I also practiced nouns and verbs.

Science: We learned about animals who have wing flap things in their armpits. Then we tried to think of ways we could make ourselves fly more... Well not fly, but glide really far.  We tried plastic bags on our arms. It didn't work good, or bad. There are SNAKES that can glide! Also we learned about how water can be like an excavator.  Then we made our own rivers.

TECH:  I built the next part of my machine and it was a hammer and I could hammer things in with it.  I also built train tracks all over the living room.

Karate:   I have my test coming up for my blue belt, so I was practicing the things I have to know for that.  I need to practice my forms more.

Beth-

Math: I did math with adding and subtracting.  That is easier than skip counting.

Language Arts:  I practiced my handwriting some more.  Mom was teaching me to keep them all the same size.  I also read another story. I read in a book too. I read about a mom and baby fish.

Science:  We learned about animals that can fly from the trees.  There are squirrels and snakes, and lizards.  I wanted to fly too.  But we didn't go very far. But some people do!  We saw on arch, so we learned about how they are made.  Water makes them, we made a river.

TECH: We built tracks for trains.  The hills are tricky. I also made a car pusher.  It pushed the car the farthest when it was long.

Dance:  We are practicing our dance for Christmas.  I love to dance with Emiliy.

Week 7 19-20

Scotty-

Math:  I learned meters and the square areas.  It also had to do with multiplication.

Language Arts:  I studied my reading comprehension.  I also practiced editing stories.

Science: We went on a family trip to Vernal Utah.  There is a huge arch that was eroded by water a long time ago and now we get to see it!  We also went to the zoo and saw so many animals.  My favorite animal at the zoo was the otter, because they like to play with us, and they were able to dive under the water and swim so fast.

TECH:  I started building my new set.  It is the inside engine part.  I am excited for the next part.

Karate:   There was no karate this week.

Beth-

Math: My favorite part of math this week is a learnded how to count by tens!  I sang a song!  Now I can skip count by tens so fast!

Language Arts:  I read a story about a dog and his toothbrush and a girl.  The dog used the girls toothbrush!  He liked teeth that shined like the moon.

Science:  We went on a trip to Vernal.  I loved the arch. It was huge, and we got to climb up a hill, and we also we got to go up to the cave when we got up there. 
We also went to the zoo, I loveded the otters because they wanted to come out and be our friends and they were very fun!

TECH: I built a sail boat.  It really floated in the water.  When I blew on it, it floated across the water.

Dance:  There was no dance this week.
