Week 32 19-20

Scotty-

Math: We did regrouping and multiplying.  We did story problems.  Like the parking lot was full and how many cars were in the parking lot.  The answer was 525.

Language Arts: We learned about the equator. We also compared humidity and temperature.  So when we were comparing, we would try and find the places on my globe. We listened to their song, and had a dance party.

Science: We learned about hand sanitizer. How do germs get inside our body.  With hand sanitizer it dries up all the skin of the germs and that kills them.  The alcohol does it.  


TECH: I built part of  something.  I have no clue what it will be.  I pretend its a robot right now.

Karate: I practiced the nunchcuks.  I get a new video next week to practice with.

Beth-

Math: We practiced telling the time.  We counted by fives to do it. 

Language Arts: We read stories.  We learned about poems.  My favorite poem was about being happy and playing with each other.  I did my spelling and handwriting.  I read a book to Gabriel this time too. 

Science:  We learned about how do bugs get in our body, and how to wash our hands, and how does hand sanitizer work.  We learned how the first time they saw bugs in people's bodies. 



TECH:  In tech with Dash. It was fun.  We used some Jenga blocks to knock them down and aim with Dash.

Dance: Dance I danced and I did so much steps that it was hard to keep track.  But I did it and it was fun.  I danced flamingo dances, some butterfly dances and when the music stopped we had to pick up our honey.  It was on the computer.

Week 31 19-20

Scotty-

Math: I did double multiplication.  I did reviewing and I did more story problems with estimating.

Language Arts: I read a story about bats and birds.  Then I compared them.  My favorite difference is bats use ultrasonic waves to find their food and birds don't.

Science:  In science I learned how rainbows are made.  I already knew how they were made.  My favorite part was the story of the guy who made his own rainbow using two prisms.


TECH: I built a crane about of legos.  It is really cool.  My favorite part is the ways you can change the way the strings pull on the hook, lifting it up.

Karate: Well, since I couldn't go to karate, I did stuff with bowstaffs.  I had to use a broom handle.  Mr. Solomon sent a video to us to practice with.

Beth-

Math: I am learning how to tell the time.  On a real clock, not a baby clock.

Language Arts: I read some more stories and I like reading.  I can't wait till I can read like mom.  I love stories.  I also learned about broken sentences.

Science:  I learned about rainbows.  It is cool how you can take two shapes in different ways, and one shape and two shapes change it from a rainbow to just light.

TECH: I get to do Dash now.  When I was doing it, it was fun how I could like, do some different things, and make him say stuff, and make him do some silly faces.

Dance: Dance is closed so mom found a ballet teacher on the computer.  She taught me a swan dance and I am going to practice it.

Week 30 19-20

Scotty-

Math: I did multiplication word problems today. I also got to do Minecraft pages.

Language Arts: I did a bunch of pages and different things this week.  I did sentence fixing. I also practiced commas.

Science:  We learned about how toys are made.  We also learned about how to Coronavirus is spreading around the world and why we need to stay inside and away from people.


TECH: I think I am building part of a crane.  I did some things different so I can play with it while I wait.

Karate: We are not having karate right now, I did it at home.  I practiced all the things Mr. Solomon told me to do. 

Beth-

Math: I am practicing my tally marks and my adding hundreds. I also did counting by fives some more and more!

Language Arts:  I learned about nouns.  Nouns are person, place and things.  I studied a painting. 

Science:  I learned about how toys and made and I learned that people have to make them up, and some people make them from mistakes.

TECH:  I built a teeter-totter.  I put fun people on them and I make them have a good time.

Dance: We couldn't go to dance.  I missed it.  So mom and I are learning the dance together!

Week 29 19-20

Scotty-

Math:  I was really struggling with this math.  It is really hard.  I got really mad, but we just did it every day over and over until I got it.

Language Arts: I read a big story, then I answered questions about it. I also did my handwriting and reading every day.

Science:  We learned about habitats and then we got to make our own habitat.  I made a castle for myself.

TECH: I made two techs this week.  This one is a guitar and then I built a scale. 

Karate: We were doing flying side kicks.  We would run and jump over about 4 pads flying side kick and then we had to hit the pad that Mr. Solomon was holding. We had to land on our feet.

Beth-

Math: I don't like math, because I don't do it good.  Mom said we can do hard things.  I cried.

Language Arts:  I got 100% on my b's and d's.   I read a new story. I did my spelling and writing too.

Science:  Habitats are where things live.  I built what I would want my habitat to look like. 
Mine is super fun and the shape of a rainbow.

TECH:  I built  bear that can crawl across the floor!  I named it ice bear.

Dance:  Dance was so fun!  I missed going to my class.  My teacher said she missed me too. I jumped and then I helped people get a new move.

Week 28 19-20

Scotty-

Math:  I hate math.  I always hate math.  I did some more skip counting and perimeters.

Language Arts:  I read about Germany and the USA. I asked my mom questions about it to see if she knew what I knew.  She got some of them right.  Their public restrooms, you have to pay to use them usually.  So if you didn't have any money!  Scary!

Science:  I had to remove my crystals from the jar. It broke.  I put them in my display case.  They were really, really big!  

TECH:  I built this like dog thing.  Where gears move, and it makes the binocular things move up and down.  And it also makes the tail move.

Karate:  I was practicing what to do when someone throws a hook punch at you.  I put my elbow up really close to their head to block it because then they can't hit me.  If you palm heal them you can block them and hit them at the same time!  Then you can do a take down.

Beth-

Math: I keep practicing skip counting by fives.  It is hard for me.  Mom showed me how there is a pattern.  I also did Life of Fred.

Language Arts: I did reading and read a new story.  I also tried to tell my b's and d's.

Science:  
We learned about how the heart pumps blood. It pumps by getting squeezed and then filled up and then squeezed and then filled up.  Like a rubber ducky.


TECH:   I built a boat by myself this time. I was good at it! It floats.

Dance:  I had skip dance again because my nose and cough. I did a dance party at home though. I taught mom my plie's.  Then dad it it too!
